What drives our organization?
Service Coordination
We help residents of Jefferson County with a developmental disability identify their strengths and needs, and goals for the future. We then create a plan together and link you to services and supports to accomplish your goals.
This is a community service provided at no cost for eligible individuals.
To be eligible for services from Developmental Disability Advocates Service Coordination, an individual must have a documented developmental disability, be age 3+ and live in Jefferson County.

Jennifer
This Month's Shining Star
Jennifer is a 50-year-old who just celebrated her birthday! Jennifer is known to make the people around her laugh. Jennifer is always telling jokes and making others happy. Jennifer is very outgoing and has never met a stranger. Jennifer makes friends with all those around her and her laugh is contagious. Jennifer loves music, singing, and making music with instruments. She is a huge fan of Kenny Rogers, Neil Diamond, and Michael Jackson. Jennifer loves going on trips to the zoo and has a great love for coffee. Jennifer loves doing group activities and does not miss an opportunity to socialize, especially the ice cream socials. Jennifer is a huge Cardinal baseball fan. Jennifer also loves playing sports in Special Olympics Track and Field and Special Olympic Bowling. Jennifer’s goal is to bring home some gold medals competing this year!

As Autism Awareness Month continues we would like to highlight Judevine Center for Autism. Here in Jefferson County, DD Advocates provides funding to support a Social Skills Group provided by Judevine. It's a great program! Check it out!
Have you heard of Missouri's Autism Projects? According to their website, The Autism Projects were established in 1991 as a pilot program. Families in rural Missouri worked with the Missouri legislature to secure funding for autism-specific family support. Regulations were established in 1999 (9 CSR 45-3.060) and legislation was passed in 2009 (633.220 RSMo) to establish at least five regional Autism Projects. Each regional Autism Project has a Parent Advisory Council (PAC) comprised of individuals with ASD or family members of individuals with ASD. The PACs make program recommendations to the Department of Mental Health for the provision of ASD services. To find out more go to
